MATCH RESULTS:

May 22nd was the 1st military rifle shoot of the 2010 season. It was a tough day for the shooters because of the 30 mph wind which gusted to 40 mph and changed direction often. The shooters took the conditions well and posted some very good scores. All the shooters were using military surplus ammo(not required) which made the scores even more impressive.

B.C. was high scorer with a 430-7x. He shot a Remington model 1903A3 WWII era bolt action rifle.

J.D. and C.B. tied for 2nd place with a score of 338, J.D. was using his M1A semi-auto rifle and C.B. shot his Russian M44 bolt action rifle.

Other shooters were using a Chinese SKS and a M1 Garand and a M44 carbine.

July 17th saw our second of three military/vintage military rifle matches. In May the shooters had the wind to contend with; last Saturday they had the heat and humidity to overcome. Again, despite the sweat running in their eyes and muscles quivering because of heat fatigue the shooters posted high scores. Everyone posted higher scores than the match of last May.
B.C. placed first again Shooting a 449-6x with his model 96 Swedish Mauser. A.S. placed second with a M1917 made by Eddystone in 1917 shooting a score of 399. B.M. shot a 3rd place score of 385-1x using a Springfield Armory Inc. M1A. We had another shooter on the line with a Korean War era M1 Garand and J.D. shot his Springfield Armory Inc. M1A again last Saturdayposting a score of 338-2x.
The next military rifle match is Saturday September 11th-please plan on attending. But,before that is our AR15 match scheduled for August 7th.
